Famous Chairs in Film and Television.

What are the most iconic chairs in Television and Film? They are seats of power, they are battled over, fought over and used to make amazing entrances. Here are a few examples where the chair has been the co-star and even the source of all the trouble!

  1. The Iron Throne from Game of Thrones. It took seventy three episodes each costing anywhere between six to fifteen million dollars to make each to decide who sat in this chair. Forged from the swords of the armies defeated by the Targaryens this seat of power certainly has a dramatic ending.
  2. Xerxes’ Throne in 300. Not one to do things by halves the Emperor of Persia, Xerxes arrives at the battle on a solid gold seat carried by three hundred slaves. It also has two lions and two Aurochs on it.  You would opt to be near the edge if you were lifting it.

  1. Number 2’s chair in the Prisoner. Whilst most of his minions had a nice Operator Chair the  “Boss” of the village wanted something a bit chic. He/She chose a groovy ball chair from Finnish designer Eero Aarnio. The others were very happy with their Cheap operator chairs.
  2. Bar stools at the Rovers Return, Queen Vic and the Woolpack. All human life is here in these soap operas. Wouldn’t it be great to sit on one of those stools and watch the drama unfold, just as long as you’re not involved in any of it!
