Protecting your Car from Thieves

When it comes to protecting your car, there are a wide range of ways to do it. During lockdown we have all been in our homes, so opportunities for home burglaries have dropped, but because we are all staying at home and not using our cars, thieves will be more focussed on car theft. There are a number of ways that you can prevent being the target of car theft.

A ghost immobiliser is one of the best ways to prevent your car from being stolen. In fact, as well as immobilising the car for car thieves so they are unable to move it, it also prevents key cloning. If you want to be sure that your car is safe from theft this is the gadget to have.

Be careful where you park your car at night. Car thieves prefer dark places. If you can store your car in a garage do, but if not, parking under a streetlight or in a well lit and busier area is better. It is also a good idea to have security cameras pointing towards the area that you park your car. Visible CCTV is a strong deterrent to thieves.

Do not leave valuables in your car, including personal documents and most importantly your vehicles registration documents. If stopped by the police, thieves will often use these to provide the police with proof that it is theirs, especially if they have some other forms of your ID and they may well use that for identity theft.
