Keeping warm in Winter time

Despite the trend that suggests Britain is getting warmer you can guarantee that we will still get a few days cold in the Winter time. This means that you won’t need to be getting rid of your healing system just yet. We are very lucky in the UK as we live in a temperate climate. This means that we are more inclined to get mild and wetish winters and summers. As the climate begins to change we should start to see an end to the four seasons. Summers will get hot and shorter. Winters will get milder, windier, wetter and last for longer.

Even so we are still at the mercy of the Arctic and Scandavian winds. There is nothing between us and the Arctic apart from Iceland and the Faroe Islands. The last freezing spell in 2018 “the Beast from the East” happened in March, just before spring, and came from Russia’s Siberian region. Because we usually get mild winters when we do get extremes of cold we really start to feel the effects. What can we do to protect ourselves from it?

First of all, call on the services of these Heating Engineers Cheltenham based company. They can ensure that all of your systems are ok and working fine. Secondly, invest in some double glazing. This helps to reduce heat loss. When the cold weather does come, try and make sure that you keep the heat in one room, keep the door closed.

One other nice thing to do is take a leaf out of the Scandavians, who do get very bad winters, and get some cozy blankets and cushions so that you can “hygge”.
