  1. Start strength training. It is more important than ever to keep up the strength in your muscles and bones to avoid them from weakening as you get older. Exercise is not only great for your health, but it is also a healthy hobby that promotes positive mental wellbeing. You don’t have to start going to the gym. You can buy some weights or a medicine ball, or even do some push ups at home every day.
  2. Learn an instrument or join a choir. If you gave up piano lessons when you were younger and regretted it, now is the time to try again. It’s never too late to bring music back into your life. It’s a great bonding activity when done in a communal setting and is excellent for activating the creative part of your brain meaning it can decrease your risk of developing dementia.

  2. Lastly, find a community. Loneliness is unfortunately a big problem for the elderly, which is why living in a community residential area like Gloucester Park Homes, with other people your age can be hugely beneficial. There is lots of choice when it comes to Gloucester park homes.
