Staying active in older age

When it comes to staying active, we all could do more. But for some reduced mobility can cause issues with your average exercise. Seated  Mountain – sit on the chair with your feet on the floor and your knees at a 90 degree angle Take a deep breath in sit up tall, exhale gently. Inhale and on the exhale roll your shoulder blades down your back giving a gentle stretch.

Warrior 1 – starting in the same seated position above, inhale and life you arms straight up from your sides (like in a star jump). Join your fingers together over your head, exhale and gently roll your shoulders back. Take a few breaths in and out here.

Seated Forward Bend – Rest you hand on your thighs in the seated position and inhale On the exhale gently fold your torso over your legs. Take a few deep breaths in this position and then inhale to sit you up straight again.
